Auburn has no answers for Texas A&M’s Mike Evans in first half

There ma have been slow starts around the SEC earlier in the day, but Texas A&M and Auburn got things off on the right foot in the first half. Texas A&M took a 24-17 lead in to halftime thanks to a late touchdown catch and stretch by Mike Evans down the right sideline.

There has been over 500 yards of offense in the first half between the two teams, which may have been expected given the styles both teams are capable of. Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel has passed for 267 yards, three touchdowns and has been picked off twice. Auburn’s Nick Marshall, who returned to the starting line-up after missing last week, has not had a great game throwing the football but has 114 yards and a touchdown and he leads the Tigers in rushing with 47 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Evans has been putting on quite the show in the first half for Texas A&M. Evans has five receptions for 182 yards and three touchdowns and Auburn has no answers for him. Manziel and Evans have been a lethal combination and will have to keep it going in the second half. Manziel has made some mistakes and taken a couple hits, but for as many mistakes as he makes Manziel always seems to have a way to make up for it in time. That has been the case in the first half this afternoon.

This game has already been a back-and-forth type game so the second half should be another wild ride down the stretch for the Aggies, who have a knack for playing close contests like this in SEC play this season.

Auburn is holding there own. I think it is an extreme exaggeration to say they “have no answers”. The game is currently tied 24-24.

“holding their own”… my grammar is atrocious.

I’d say scoring as many TDs as Evans is an answer.

They have no answer to A&M’s offensive holding.

I have no idea exactly what the injury is yet… but what Manziel just did is exactly how I broke my collar bone … hope he is okay.

Looks like Auburn just had another “answer.” 38-34 lead with 9:06 to play. A pretty good game.

win or lose, Manziel is such a little punk. officials had to beg him not to get a taunting penalty.

Tim Tebow doesn’t appreciate Gary’s drooling all over Johnny’s jock. I had to turn the volume down!
