Maryland loses WR Deon Long to leg injury

A tough first half against Wake Forest got even worse for Maryland as the Terps’ leading pass-catcher, Deon Long, went down in the second quarter with an apparent leg injury.

Long got injured on a running black when Wake linebacker Teddy Mathews rolled up on the back of his leg. Long was later carted off the field.

The junior was off to a good start against the Demon Deacons, catching four passes for 43 yards at the time of his injury. He leads Maryland with 32 catches on the season.

With the Terps down 17-3 in the first half, it’s going to be tough haul for Maryland to come back without Long.
