So much for the new and improved LSU offense.
The wheels came off a bit for the Tigers against Mississippi in Oxford on Saturday, as the Rebels took advantage of three Zach Mettenberger turnovers to take a 10-0 halftime lead.
The senior quarterback came into the game fourth in the nation in passing efficiency with a rating of 184.06, to go with 15 touchdowns and just two interceptions. It took all of one half to ruin that sterling stat item.
And it was Bo Wallace, not Mettenberger, who was the best quarterback on the field, throwing for 200 yards as the Rebels made the Tiger defense look pedestrian for much of the half.
However, if past performance is any indication of the future, LSU and Les Miles probably has the Rebels right where they want them — the Tigers have won nine of their past 11 against Ole Miss.
Who knows what kind of sorcery Miles has up his sleeve?
