Alabama starting safety Vinnie Sunseri could be lost for season

Alabama starting strong safety Vinnie Sunseri could be lost for the season after injuring his left knee in the Crimson Tide’s 52-0 win over Arkansas on Saturday.

His knee will be examined on Sunday but Tide coach Nick Saban indicated that the injury could be serious.

Sunseri got hurt on kickoff coverage against the Razorbacks and limped off the field afterward.

The junior made many mid-season All-American teams this past week after notching 20 tackles and returning two interceptions for touchdowns in the season’s first half, including one against Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel.

Sophomore Landon Collins, currently third on the team in tackles, will likely fill in for Sunseri. Luckily for the Tide, he and the rest of the Bama secondary won’t face any high-powered passing attacks the rest of the way.
