Ole Miss TE Evan Engram to have season-ending surgery on ankle

Mississippi tight end Evan Engram will have season-ending surgery on his injured left ankle, the school announced on Sunday.

The 6-foot-3, 217-pounder was hurt in the second half of the Rebels’ 27-24 victory over No. 6 LSU on Saturday. He caught two passes for 28 yards against the Tigers before leaving the game.

The true freshman was off to a great start to his career prior to this setback. He’s currently third on Ole Miss with 20 catches for 265 yards and three touchdowns.

Look for junior Nick Parker, who caught a touchdown pass against LSU, to fill in for Engram.
