Manziel to start for A&M

For those whose Saturday has been consumed by the “will he? won’t he?” questions, you can rest easy. He will.

Shortly before kickoff, Texas A&M announced announced that Johnny Manziel will indeed start at quarterback for the Aggies against Vanderbilt. Manziel suffered a shoulder injury at the end of a scramble early in the fourth quarter of last Saturday’s loss to Auburn.

After being in sling Monday, head coach Kevin Sumlin said throughout the week he was hopeful the reigning Heisman winner would be available for today’s game. It had also previously been reported that Manziel would be OK to play.

If Manziel aggravates the injury, he would once again be replaced by Matt Joeckel.
