Wake me when Mariota actually does something more than dink and dunk and only throw downfield when they completely fool defenses on a play action.

No one would want to disturb you, mate. We like you better when you are sleeping.

QB’s have the Johnny Unitas award already. Could we at least pretend consider a non-QB? Carlos Hyde? Melvin Gordon? Mike Evans?

  4. Mr. Wright 212 says: Oct 27, 2013 3:47 AM

    Carlos Hyde? LMAO

Yet again, Clemson won 40-27, not 40-20.

As I said before, it must be a thin class at RB if only QB’s are considered for the Hype-sman!

Wow, Bryce Petty had 430 yards on only 20 completions. That’s impressive.

I’m sorry but Teddy Bridgewater had one lose, it was to a good UCF team that gave South Carolina all they can handle, the same South Carolina team that last night beat the #5 team in the country and has been running over all ranked SEC teams.
So with that said Teddy Bridgewater deserves to be in the top 5. I don’t care how people feel about competition, the ACC is a complete joke of a conference, Cincy who is Louisville’s conference has beaten the ranked teams in the ACC in the past, UCF has shown how good they are, Rutgers and Houston have as well.

Teddy should be 4 and Lynch deserves consideration at 5.

With other solid candidates available, you really think Manziel would still be a serious contender for this year’s Heisman? Can’t we take him off the list?

  10. jdillydawg says: Oct 27, 2013 2:50 PM

Manziel seems to be earning his Heisman candidacy quite well. The guy performs week after week.

If the Heisman is more about character than performance, why aren’t we looking at a bunch of obscure players with 4.0 GPA’s and a weekly schedule of community service?

  11. Deb says: Oct 27, 2013 4:47 PM

    @jdillydawg …

I didn’t suggest removing Manziel from the list because of his character. The major complaint about him is ego, and that’s not a substantive “issue” comparable to Reggie Bush taking a six-figure salary.

But no matter how well he performs, I don’t think anyone here believes he’ll receive another Heisman. So it seems superfluous to keep putting him on the list.

Wjmoffat, thanks for the dumbest rant I’ve ever read on here. That South Carolina team that is running all over all ranked SEC teams, lost to two I ranked SEC teams, one of those teams, Georgia was beaten by Clemson, in that “joke of a conference” the ACC. The ACC also has three top ten teams with a combined total of one loss, which came against one of those other ACC teams. You should just delete your account and watch a sport you might understand something about.

    Unranked, not I ranked.

Classyjacklambert, High Five my friend! I couldn’t have said it better. wjmoffat, you sir or ma’am need to have either a vision or hearing exam. If those happen to come back fine, you need some serious brain analysis because you are delusional.

Manziel has lost bost games due to about 6 turnovers in the games. He should be off this list.

First, those to losses came against #1 Bama and #11 Auburn.

Second, in those two games he put up a combined 1,064 total yards, and 10 TDs.

And lastly, he lost both of those games because his defense is ranked 110 out of 123….

If the Aggies had even a middle of the road defense, Manziel is leading the Heisman race and the Aggies are undefeated and ranked #1 right now…

That said, there are a million ifs out there and unfortunately they are all “what ifs”. The reality is the Aggie D is an abomination and the reason for both A&M losses. Manziel is not winning the Heisman.

My Heisman winner had been Mariota all year but I’m leaning towards Winston right now.

It should be Bryce Petty at Baylor hands down. Look at his stats and you will see no one this season comes close.

  18. Mr. Wright 212 says: Oct 29, 2013 12:36 AM

Doesn’t matter who the losses came to, when you have guys playing as well as (Mariota) or better (Winston), then you are off the list except to fill the front row down on West St. in Manhattan.
