North Carolina’s talented tight end Eric Ebron got overly exuberant following his team’s 34-10 win over Boston College over the weekend.
North Carolina State head coach Dave Doeren, whose team plays UNC this coming Saturday, is making sure his players know about it.
“There are certain ways guys handle games, and some of them talk a lot,” Doeren said. “Obviously, that’s what he’s doing.
“It doesn’t win games. We have to go play well, and they have to play well. That’s just how it is in sports.”
NC State cornerback Juston Burris isn’t taking the bait, either.
“That’s how Carolina handles their business,” Burris said. “We’re not going to do that. We’re not going to go on Twitter, and we’re not going to talk. We’re just going to go out on Saturday and be ready to play.”
Last year, the Tar Heels snapped the Wolfpack’s five-game win streak against UNC when Gio Bernard returned a punt 74 yards for a touchdown with 13 seconds left. The Tar Heels are four-point favorites despite playing in Raleigh, there they have lost three straight.
We’ll see if Ebron can back up his big talk in a hostile environment.
