Lots of coaches use Twitter these days to get their messages out to fans, media and prospective student athletes.
Some coaches might even do the tweeting themselves instead of relying on some administrative assistant.
But Alabama coach Nick Saban isn’t having any of it, according to this report from AL.com.
Saban is one of only two SEC coaches without a Twitter account, South Carolina’s Steve Spurrier being the other. That makes sense, since those two are also the two oldest coaches in the league.
It seems a shame not to have Saban on the social media network. He’s a generally stoic guy, so he might do well in the format of 140 characters or less. On the other hand, a minute not wasted on Twitter is a minute he can devote to winning another national title or signing another first-round pick to his roster.
Whatever the case, at least one of his players isn’t buying the idea that Saban is on the sidelines of the Twitterverse.
“He claims he don’t have one,” C. J. Mosley said, “but he probably does.”
