Report: Carl Pelini did in fact do more than marijuana

FAU Pelini Resigns Football AP

When Florida Atlantic made the decision this week to remove Carl Pelini has head coach, there was plenty of discussion about alleged marijuana use. Word quickly spread that thee was more to the story besides marijuana use, and apparently there may be some truth to that rumor.

According to a report by SB Nation published Friday, Pelini and defensive coordinator Pete Rekstis agreed to resign from his job after being tied to alleged marijuana and cocaine use during their tenures at Florida Atlantic. According to documents obtained by SB Nation through a Freedom of Information Act request, two witnesses (possibly an assistant coach) accused Pelini of using the drugs.

You can see the documentation used for the report via SB Nation’s original story.

Not condoning it, but at least they did it on a bye week. 😃 That said, good luck trying to find another job. They better head off to the NFL.

Well…I guess that answers the question in regards to some of the plays they ran this year.

    Good job Carl.

Way to screw up a promising career. Hope it was worth putting your family through this.

No prob! His brother will give him a job, if he still has one.

I heard that his brother Bo pushed him to take the job at FAU because he was being a hound dog bedding coeds at Neb.

Doesn’t mean he wouldn’t hire him again. WKY hired Petrino after he screwed around at Arkansas. Not like it hasn’t happened before.

I feel like this will actually HELP him recruit if he gets a job in the future.

Tell me he went Scarface, face first into the pile of blow. I’m sure he’ll find Jesus and all will be forgiven. Or at least that’s what the Reborn will tell you. Drug free and born fine the 1st time!

Bo will not take him back. Bo pushed him to take the FAU job. Bo was relieved when he got the job. Bo knows you don’t want to piss off mom by firing her other son! Bo knows you don’t stick around Lincoln if you are sticking it in a boosters wife.

Well, he did go to Ohio State.

Younger brother Bo is the adult….that’s scary.

As for Carl. Really? Most of us would LOVE to have your job – even at FAU – and the money – and – because we would love it – we would – NOT DO DRUGS!!! We would “be a good citizen”

Apparently – too tough for Carl to do – oh well – hope your career is over because – well – you DESERVE it.

    How old is he? Weak.

What does the Defensive Line coach get by outing his coach as a party boy? I think he hurts his career as well

I bet it was good blow being so close to Miami and all.

What a poor example he was to his players. How sad. A great job. Great pay. Great hours.

Carl had respect and honor, which he disrespected and dishonored.

Bender, remember when I said this was the case?
