Done Knott: Cyclones LB out for rest of season

This past week, Paul Rhoads confirmed that one of his top defensive players was in need of surgery, but both the player and the program were hopeful the procedure could be delayed until the end of the season.

Unfortunately for both, that won’t be the case.

Following Iowa State’s 34-point loss to Kansas State Saturday, Rhoads confirmed that Luke Knott will indeed miss the remainder of the 2013 season due to a hip injury. The linebacker will undergo surgery to repair the damage, although a specific date hasn’t been set.

Knott originally suffered the injury a month ago, and has been sidelined the past two games.

Knott, the younger brother of former Cyclone standout Jake Knott, was third on the team in tackles with 45 entering Week 10.
