Myriad injuries leaves Taylor Martinez unlikely vs. Michigan

If you’re looking to add up Taylor Martinez‘s ailments, you can start with the turf toe that sidelined the senior for a couple of games last month. Additionally, the Nebraska quarterback is fighting through a hip pointer and a shoulder injury. Oh, and did we point out an abdominal strain’s part of the current injury list as well?

Because of the combination of those injuries, head coach Bo Pelini said Monday, Martinez is not expected to play in Saturday’s game against Michigan.

With Martinez out yet again, freshman Tommy Armstrong would again get the start under center for the Cornhuskers. Armstrong has already started four games this season in place of the injured Martinez, who has not played in four of the last five games

Interestingly, the only game the Cornhuskers lost during that stretch was the one game in which Martinez was healthy enough to start..

Senior Ron Kellogg, aka Mr. Hail Mary, is also available and will likely see the playing field. Especially when it comes to crunch time.
