This is real, and it’s spectacular: Rick Neuheisel sings ‘Born in the SEC’

Well, here’s an unexpected Thursday treat: Not only is it Rick Neuheisel singing (again), but it’s him singing “Born in the SEC.”

It’s flawless, too. Neuheisel — who’s an analyst for the Pac-12 Network — brought his guitar to the Dan Patrick Show on Thursday and delivered stanzas like this:

“I grew up loving the Crimson Tide / Shed a tear the day Bear died / Sure am loving coach Nicky’s ride / I like my football southern fried / Born in the SEC / Born in the SEC / Mike Slive’s like God to me / I was born in the SEC”

Watch Neuheisel’s full performance in all its glory below:

For a second there I thought this was some sort of shot at the hearing impaired…..

I was too awestruck by the song to catch that typo, apparently.

You might love Rick, you might loathe him, but there is no denying he is a smart guy. Law degree, coach, commentator and singer / song writer. Great back story, walk on who goes on to become a Rose Bowl MVP and then coach at his alma mater. Could care less about UCLA but have always liked this guy because he can carry on a conversation about more than football.

The guy is a total dick but you have to give credit where credit is due…

That was well done and extremely funny yet subtle.

Anther good thing, we finally found something he is good at.

    Well Done!

Will Ronco issue a “Best of Neuheisel” in time for
    Christmas?

I guess the PAC-12 is truly second-rate compared to the mighty SEC. Born in Wisconsin and raised in Arizona, Neuheisel apparently couldn’t get any school from his beloved south to take him, yet managed to walk on at UCLA and then convince them to let him coach. The only thing southern-fried about him is his brain.

Now that he’s a TV commentator for PAC-12 broadcasts (yet more money from the conference that made him rich) he comes up with a rip-off song (Rick couldn’t carry Bruce’s jockstrap) about a rival conference. You’d never see anyone from the SEC doing this about any other conference in any other era. Ever.

What’s next Rick, a podcast of you giving Saban a BJ? This kind of crap is why fans of PAC-12 teams don’t root for each other, because even long-time players-coaches-analysts have no conference loyalty whatsoever.

Yeah, go ahead and claim it was “all in fun,” my comments are “sour grapes,” blah, blah, blah. Neuheisel is just another band-wagon, blow-hard groupie pandering for attention. No wonder they’re called anal-ysts.

Does a Longhorn have to tell you how to spell another?

“Anther good thing, we finally found something he is good at.”

What are they teaching y’all there?
