Posnanski long-forms Saban and ‘the process’

Thanks to annual top-ranked recruiting classes... and three of the last four BCS titles... and BCS titles at two different SEC school, Alabama’s Nick Saban is always amongst the most-discussed individuals involved in the game of college football.

Thanks to the events of this week, Saban’s name is once again at the forefront.

Just as they did earlier in the season, reports surfaced connecting Saban to a Texas job that’s not even vacant. While Saban has again pledged his commitment to Alabama, the UT chatter continues and shows no signs of slowing much if at all for the foreseeable future. Of course, the latest rumor mill rumblings came as the Tide prepares for LSU, a game that will go a long way in determining if Saban’s squad will get a shot at an unprecedented third straight BCS title.

Keeping with the “All Saban, all the time” theme, NBCSports.com‘s Joe Posnanski penned an exceptional long-form look at the Alabama head coach and his famed “process,” a way of coaching that saw its genesis with his beloved father, simplified by a psychiatrist during his time at Michigan State, and helped turn the Tide into a modern-day dynasty that’s the envy of football programs across the country.
