Report: Ball State’s second-leading rusher out for NIU Game

Ball State will be at less than full strength offensively in its huge MACtion matchup tonight with Northern Illinois, at least according to one report.

The esteemed Jeremy Fowler of CBSSports.com reported a couple of hours before the eight p.m. ET kickoff that running back Horactio Banks has been diagnosed with a torn ACL. Obviously, he won’t be available for the game between the one-loss Cardinals and the unbeaten Huskies. Adding insult to literal injury, Banks suffered the injury during practice leading up to the game, Fowler reported.

The school has yet to confirm the extent of Banks’ injury or that he was even injured.

Banks is second on the team in rushing yards with 595, far outpacing No. 3 Teddy Williamson and his 133 yards. The sophomore has also ran for seven touchdowns.
