Report: Oklahoma State’s leading receiver won’t play vs. Texas

As it looks to keep pace with Baylor in the Big 12, Texas may have caught a rather huge break.

According to reports coming out of the area, Oklahoma State wide receiver Josh Stewart did not make the trip and will not play against the Longhorns. Stewart suffered a foot injury in the first quarter of last weekend’s win over Kansas.

Stewart leads the Cowboys in receptions (40) and receiving yards (510).

The loss of Stewart would also be a significant blow to OSU’s special teams. Stewart is currently sixth in the nation in punt returns with an 18.2 yard-per-return average. He’s also one of seven FBS players who have returned two punts for touchdowns this season.
