Houston leading receiver day-to-day with head injury

Deontay Greenberry AP

One of the best receivers in college football may or may not be available as Houston looks to snap a two-game losing streak this weekend.

Deontay Greenberry sustained what’s being described as a head injury in the loss to Louisville Saturday.  The wide receiver did not return to the game after suffering the injury early in the first quarter.

Officially, Greenberry is listed as day-to-day for Saturday’s game against Cincinnati.

He feels better,” head coach Tony Levine said according to the Houston Chronicle. “It doesn’t shock me he told me he feels better because he wants to play.”

Greenberry leads the Cougars in receptions (70), receiving yards (1,042) and receiving touchdowns (nine).  Those totals are all in the Top 20 nationally.

I like his determination and admire the UH Staff for doing the right thing by their player.
