Phillip Dorsett likely won’t return this Sat. for Miami

Sidelined for the last month due to injury, it doesn’t appear Miami’s leading receiver last season is ready for a return to the playing field.

Phillip Dorsett suffered a partially torn MCL in a mid-October win over North Carolina, and the prognosis was for the receiver to miss a period of 4-6 weeks. Dorsett has already missed the last four games, with the head coach sounding as if it’s all be certain to be five in a row.

“If he feels good we’re going to give it a run, but it’s not where it needs to be right now,” Al Golden said of Dorsett’s availability for Saturday’s game against Virginia. “Until he can become integrated, avoid guys and make guys miss and protect himself, we’re not going to put him out there.”

At the time of the injury, Dorsett was second on the team in receiving yards (272) and third in receptions (13). Last season, Dorsett led the Hurricanes in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.
