Aaron Murray injured, won’t return

Georgia’s Iron Man has finally stared injury in the face and been forced to blink.

In the second quarter of UGA’s game against Kentucky, Aaron Murray went down with what appeared to be a rather significant leg injury. The quarterback was immediately taken to the locker room for further treatment, but did not return with his teammates to the sidelines after halftime.

Unfortunately, Murray won’t be returning at all as the school has announced that the senior will be sidelined for the remainder of the game due to a left-knee injury. The specific nature and extent of the injury wasn’t divulged.

The speculation, unfortunately, is that the injury is indeed serious.

Saturday’s game was Murray’s final one at Sanford Stadium. Murray has started 52 straight games for the Bulldogs; whether he will be available to extend that streak against Georgia Tech in the regular-season finale and on in the postseason, obviously, remains to be seen.
