Sarkisian staying mum on QB starter

When Washington takes the field for its road game against Oregon State Saturday night, Steve Sarkisian knows who will line up under center. He’s not, though, going to divulge it.

Late in the second quarter of last weekend’s loss to UCLA, starter Keith Price suffered an injury to his right (throwing) shoulder. The senior did not throw a pass in practice until Thursday, with backup Cyler Miles preparing as if he would make his first collegiate start.

While Price was optimistic throughout the week that he would be available to extend his streak of starts, Sarkisian is not inclined to name a starter until shortly before the 10:30 p.m. ET kickoff.

“I know [who will start],” Sarkisian said during Friday radio show. “But I can’t tell you that.”

Price has started 25 straight games for the Huskies dating back to the 2011 season, and has started 36 games in his career.

Miles replaced the injured Price against the Bruins and completed 15-of-22 passes for 149 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Prior to that, the freshman had attempted 10 passes all season.
