Last Wednesday, Dabo Swinney announced that Josh Watson would be foregoing his final season of eligibility and making himself available for the April NFL draft.
Five days later? Never mind.
In a posting made to his Facebook page Sunday, the defensive tackle revealed that he had undergone a change of heart and would be returning for his senior year. Watson said the decision came after further reflection and consultation with “important people in my life.”
“After some consideration and meaningful conversations with important people in my life, I will be returning for my senior season next year. I must thank all of the fans for their kind words upon hearing the news of my departure, but you guys are stuck with me another year lol!”
Watson has started three of the 11 games in which he’s played this season. In 2012, he had nine starts and was tops among Tiger defensive linemen with 54 tackles and 12 quarterback pressures.
