Cal moves 2014 game with Oregon to Santa Clara

California running back Vereen tries to get away from Oregon defenders during second quarter of NCAA game in Berkeley AP

California has decided to move its scheduled 2014 home game with Oregon to the San Francisco 49ers’ stadium in Santa Clara.

The reason? The Bears are required by the Pac-12 to host a weekday home game and playing the Ducks on a Thursday or Friday could present major parking issues for the school. Besides, Cal believes that moving the game could generate up to $1 million in extra revenue.

Levi’s Stadium is set to open next summer. The Cal-Oregon game on Oct. 24 will be the first college game played there.

Cal Berkeley has a beautiful campus… but parking is not their strong suit. I can imagine parking issues there.
