The Big Ten conference has issued a public reprimand to Ohio State offensive lineman Marcus Hall for obscene gestures he made to the Michigan Stadium crowd after being ejected during the first half of the No. 2 Buckeyes’ 42-41 win over the Wolverines this past Saturday.
The conference said that Hall violated its sportsmanship policy.
Both Hall and kick returner Dontre Wilson were ejected for fighting (along with Michigan linebacker Royce Jenkins-Stone) in the second quarter of the game, but Hall threw more fuel on the fire when he raised the middle fingers of both hands to the crowd on his way to the tunnel.
Hall later apologized for his actions via his Twitter account.
Buckeye coaches were also reprimanded for not properly escorting Hall out of the stadium.
Despite the reprimand and the ejections, both Hall and Wilson have not been suspended by the conference for Saturday’s Big Ten title matchup against No. 9 Michigan State. Urban Meyer has also said he will not hold the players out of the game with the Spartans.
