Mizzou v ok st should be fun.

  2. bender4700 says: Dec 8, 2013 9:49 PM

    Gildan New Mexico
Washington (6-6) vs. Colorado State (7-6)

    Fight Hunger
    BYU (8-4) vs. Washington (8-4)

    Huh?

  3. libradad53 says: Dec 8, 2013 9:53 PM

    Agree with bender4700:

It is Washington State vs. Colorado State.

    Not:
    Gildan New Mexico
Washington (6-6) vs. Colorado State (7-6)

UW Huskies would never wish to be confused with WSU Cougars. Both would join up to rip some poor copy intern a new one.
    Please correct. Thank you.

  4. balfe13 says: Dec 8, 2013 9:56 PM

How dare you confuse UW with that WSU trash?!

  5. villain612 says: Dec 8, 2013 9:57 PM

I’m sorry but there are too many bowls.
6-6 teams don’t deserve another game.

I think we should raise the minimum win total to 7 or 8.

  6. thefiesty1 says: Dec 8, 2013 9:57 PM

Mack Brown better resign now. Oregon will blow out Robinson’s read and react (too late) defense in a heartbeat in the Alamo. It’ll be worse than the Mexicans against Crockett and Bowie.

  7. classyjacklambert says: Dec 8, 2013 9:58 PM

Can’t wait to watch the Clemson – Ohio State match up in the Orange bowl. I can’t see Urban Meyers pulling a Woody Hayes and punching Daniel Rodriguez in the face, but it should be an exciting game. Gotta say, it looks like the BCS is going out the right way.

  8. lsuzilla says: Dec 8, 2013 10:01 PM

Keep a watch on the Indy Bowl featuring two of the top RB’s in the nation.

  9. bender4700 says: Dec 8, 2013 10:06 PM

I’m not one to jump on typos, but I was literally confused.

The bowl system is a joke.

The BWW passed Nebraska to the Gator, skipping on a revival of K-State v Nebraska, Bill Snyder v Bo Pelini (see 2003). Old Big 8/12 rivals with a lot of history. Lots of people love to see games they used to watch when they were younger.

    1. Michigan won’t travel, they are matched with a team who lose to North Dakota State. They’re in a “bad” season. Long way to go for a vacation. Why would anyone in Michigan fly to Tempe for this game? They’d go to Florida, So Cal, or Hawaii. Makes sense. Vacation spots. Christmas mid week. So they would need to travel during busy travel days, probably use more time off than they’d want.
    2. K State fan is far more likely to travel for the chance to knock down Nebraska again. Michigan has never faced K State, so no history, not much intrigue. K State was looking at a National Title chance last year, now they gotta go to AZ, to face a weak Michigan who they have ZERO connection to.
    3. Husker fans are all over AZ/So Cal. Lots of alumni in AZ and So Cal would easily make this trip. It’s a Saturday, so leave Friday, don’t even have to take a day off of work. I would have looked at it, I’ve been to plenty of Nebraska versus Kansas State games in my day, so being able to stay a weekend in AZ and see this game again, heck yeah.

Way to go BWW. You basically made sure nobody watches or goes to your bowl game. Meanwhile Nebraska and Georgia have a rematch, both missing their starting QBs.

  10. polegojim says: Dec 8, 2013 10:10 PM

Love Bowl Season… and will enjoy PLAYOFF season much more.

Would love to have seen these top 4… FSU, Auburn, Alabama, MSU… fight it out this year. Honorable mentions would have been OSU and Mizzou.

Go BLUE in the Fiesta Bowl… but…UGH!

  11. bender4700 says: Dec 8, 2013 10:12 PM

    I agree Villain,

Cut the bowls, 8 win min, 7 if not enough.

    35 Bowls + 70 teams = BORING

  12. floridacock says: Dec 8, 2013 10:19 PM

Don’t like all the bowls……don’t watch. The kids are getting rewarded, so what’s the big deal? And they wouldn’t be around if they didn’t make money.

  13. scoops1 says: Dec 8, 2013 10:20 PM

AdvoCare V100 Bowl looks to be a solid bowl featuring 2 marquee RBs

  14. floridacock says: Dec 8, 2013 10:20 PM

Bad match up in the Orange Bowl. Clempson will lose by 50. OSU should be playing Alabama in the Sugar. Would be a much better game.

  15. hittfamily says: Dec 8, 2013 10:22 PM

Duke plays a meaningful bowl game.
    UCF Plays a BCS game.
    UF……bwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  16. villain612 says: Dec 8, 2013 10:29 PM

If you have too many bowls, then qualifying for one becomes meaningless.

I know in the end its all about the money so its not gonna change, but having 70 bowl bound teams is a joke. That’s over half of FBS!

  17. lrical says: Dec 8, 2013 10:37 PM

I’ll be in El Paso watching the sun bowl

  18. 8to80texansblog says: Dec 8, 2013 10:54 PM

I’m fairly disappointed with the Chick Fil A bowl for my Aggies.

Thought for sure we would get a New Year’s day bowl.

Duke should be a good matchup though… I hope that Manziel is back to healthy by then though.

  19. 8to80texansblog says: Dec 8, 2013 10:55 PM

And Oregon is going to crush Texas….

  20. classyjacklambert says: Dec 8, 2013 10:57 PM

We all get it floridacock. Even with your recent “success”, you will still always be jealous of Clemson. Grow up.

  21. 8to80texansblog says: Dec 8, 2013 10:58 PM

If I’m correct, the Orange bowl had the first pick amongst large bids… how in the world did they pick Ohio St. over Alabama?

Alabama has been a part of the top 3 rated football games this year….

  22. clemsonstillsucks says: Dec 8, 2013 11:25 PM

    Hey Classyjack,

    Can I get a high “5” on Clemson’s season?

  23. planck16 says: Dec 8, 2013 11:31 PM

    Hey Clemsonstillsucks,

53 teams have played in a BCS Bowl Game…….53 out of 123 teams…….43% of the teams are good enough to play in a BCS Bowl….but yours…..enjoy your Bloomin’ Onion Bowl Mate!

  24. clemsonstillsucks says: Dec 8, 2013 11:41 PM

The difference is I actually do appreciate going to a decent bowl based on my team’s record and not some contractual tie in…and also with the knowledge that Carolina beat 2 of the 2013 BCS teams.

So Planck – can your team boast that?

  25. planck16 says: Dec 8, 2013 11:52 PM

No, but Clemson didn’t lose to a team like Tennessee who isn’t even playing in a bowl. Great, you beat 2 BCS teams, where did that get you? Oh, back in Tampa!

Win the games that you HAVE to win and not just the games you WANT to win.

But then again, dealing with a fine outstanding classy gentleman as yourself with the screen name of clemsonstillsucks, I can understand why education and manners are not your first priorities.

  26. clemsonstillsucks says: Dec 9, 2013 3:28 AM

LOL – it was a simple question, and I can certainly understand why you’re embarrassed to answer it.

  27. clemsonstillsucks says: Dec 9, 2013 3:29 AM

By the way…best if luck in your bowl game. Gimme “5”!

  28. clemsonstillsucks says: Dec 9, 2013 3:30 AM

By the way…best of luck in your bowl game. Gimme “5”!

  29. floridacock says: Dec 9, 2013 8:08 AM

JEALOUS!!! HA! Reality is more like it. Finally some Clempson extremist paper fans crawling out of their holes after Carolina beat down #5! You will disapear after the bowl….again

  30. classyjacklambert says: Dec 9, 2013 8:25 AM

Hey Planck, they are playing in Orlando this year, not Tampa, they did get a decent bowl in the Capital One bowl. But it’s not a BCS bowl.

  31. classyjacklambert says: Dec 9, 2013 8:28 AM

…and another incoherent floridacock post. Next time collect your thoughts and proofread to make sure your statement makes sense. Also I see you still haven’t really grasped the concept of what a beat down is. If a game is tied with 7 minutes left, and your team pulls away at the end, it’s a victory, not a beat down. 63-17, that’s a beat down.

  32. mrsmell says: Dec 9, 2013 8:35 AM

SC vs WIS, BYU vs WAS, STA vs MSU, and CLEM vs OSU are my picks as the best games of the bowl season.
Should have been ORE vs BAY, no way TEX can stop ORE.

  33. planck16 says: Dec 9, 2013 8:40 AM

What do recruits want to hear? Hey, we played in the Outback Bowl and the Capitol One Bowl and have finished no higher than 4th or 5th in the SEC over the last few years or we have played in 2 BCS Bowl games over the last 3 years?

The Clemson mindset is larger than just beating SCAR, while SCAR is just focused on owning the state of SC. Yes, it sucks we have lost 5 in a row, but losing is a part of the game and Clemson hasn’t played well vs. SC recently.

And clemsonstillsucks, I answered your simple question with a simple answer for a simple man, No, read the first word of my response.

  34. scfan36 says: Dec 9, 2013 9:53 AM

    Planck,

Are you really bragging about the 2012 orange bowl? I thought Clemson had issued a moratorium to never discuss those horrendous events again. The problem with getting defaulted into a BCS bowl that you do not deserve is the potential for embarrassing outcomes. You may want to wait until after the game before you continue your delusional claims.

Also, y’all can take all the recruits in the world. High school talent is high school talent; that’s how your players come and go over Dabo. But I’m sure you haven’t paid close enough attention to the ACC’s weakness over the last few years, and instead blissfully accept the narrative that Dabo is doing a great job. From all of us in Columbia, keep doing what you’re doing!

  35. packergator says: Dec 9, 2013 10:37 AM

And just about ALL of them are on ESPN – what a shock.

  36. 12is3times4 says: Dec 9, 2013 11:40 AM

This year’s Gildan New Mexico game really should be renamed the Cannabis Bowl.

  37. jonkybon says: Dec 9, 2013 11:45 AM

If ACC has such weakness, how come they set a record for having the most teams qualify for bowl games this year? ACC had 11, 2 more than the next highest total.

The ACC has more players on active NFL rosters then any other conference. Before last year, they annually led in Pro Bowl alumni.

How does that qualify as a weak conference? Oh I know. It’s the dirt peckers trying to ride their big brothers coat tails since they have THE WORST title record for any school that has been Div 1 for at least 20 years. SC has that long home winning streak, but fail to mention that when they beat Clemson this year it was the first time in two years they beat at home a team with a winning record and their starting QB.

This is the final year of BCS bowls and like every other honor in college football, it alluded the Cocks.

  38. scfan36 says: Dec 9, 2013 12:56 PM

That stat about the home winning streak is totally wrong. Vanderbilt this year as well as a couple of .500 teams, and we beat Georgia (#5 at the time) and east Carolina at home last season. Not bragging about any of them, but you can’t just go throwing around “facts” that are totally bogus. As to your assertions about the ACC being strong, you did a nice job cherry picking a few stats to support yourself, but I think even a cursory glance at the sagarin rankings would change your toon. Oh, and the fact that Clemson has beaten any ACC opponent that finished better than 7-5 over the last two years. Most importantly though, 5 straight losses to the same team you try so desperately to tear down. Stay delusional, tigers fans.

  39. rsoandb says: Dec 9, 2013 1:07 PM

OU – Bama worst matchup ever. Should have been buckeyes – Bama! And I’m an OU fan!!@ And OU fans thought last year’s blowout to A&M was bad…Bama may score on every possession. Thank goodness the BcS is dead.

  40. dkhhuey says: Dec 9, 2013 2:51 PM

I may be in the minority but I love all of the bowl games!!! The regular season is over and it gives me a month to gorge on the sport I love before we go into a winter slump!!!

  41. clemsonstillsucks says: Dec 9, 2013 11:31 PM

Nice to see you Jonk. Gimme 5!!!

Got to agree with Scfan…there’s numbers and then there’s numbers that matter. The only two top 10 BCS teams Clemson faces this year waxes their asses. Until Dabo figures it out, the best place for Clemson fans to live will be in the past. Feel free to sit on the porch and talk about the “good ole days” and enjoy the last year you’ll get a contractual “freebie”…from here on out, it’s the record and human rankings that counts.

    @ Planck

Sorry – really expected you to have more than a one word answer. Sorry for overestimating you! By the way – do you think Saban will stop at 70?

  42. clemsonstillsucks says: Dec 9, 2013 11:50 PM

    Pardon me – I meant Meyer (!)
