NC State receiver leaves team

North Carolina State has confirmed wide receiver Travares Copeland has left the team after playing nine games following a transfer from West Virginia.

Copeland transferred from West Virginia to NC State last fall but was granted the opportunity to play in 2013 by the NCAA rather than sit out a year under normal transfer protocol. He played in nine games for NC State this season, recording 20 receptions for 149 yards and zero touchdowns.

No reason for Copeland’s departure from the team was given. Copeland figured to serve a more prominent role in the Wolfpack offense in 2014 if he stuck around.

Copeland’s name has already been removed from the official roster on the team’s website as well.
