Williams is the first running back from Boston College to win the award and the first running back from the ACC to receive the honor. This season he rushed for 2,119 yards and 17 touchdowns, earning him a trip to New York as a Heisman Trophy finalists on Saturday.

    What a joke. Either of the Pac-12 guys deserved it over him.

    Look MEATHEAD, Andre Williams lead the nation in rushing. Plus, in his final game, he was injured and didn’t play in 2 1/2 quarters. Character wise, Ka’Deem Carey, the guy who beat up his girlfriend, isn’t deserving of DIK! Andre is a scholar/athlete and a fine young man.

    Maybe I’m biased but Tre Mason not even finishing in the top 3 is a joke.

    Ugh I agree with thegamecocker on this one and that never happens. Also way to pun it up Kevin McGuire!

    Yeah who cares about actual ability on the field, gamecocker, let’s just give every award to the closest thing to Tebow. Isn’t there a BYU upstanding young man we can give it to instead? Kadeem led the nation in rushing last year, but I didn’t see you yelling for him to win the Doak then….

    @auburntiger & steelerdave

    In the college game, character still counts! Andre Williams personifies everything good about scholar/athletes. He won it on the field and in the classroom. Ks’Deem Carey won a “UFC” bout with his girlfriend, the mother of his child. Hell, even Classyjacklambert agrees with me. Hey Jack, when was the last time you were in Columbia, SC?

    Meat Carroll & Steeler Dave – Your ignorance and bias is obvious. You’ve obviously never seen the boy run. Luckily for you it will be answered on the field in the bowl game when he goes up against Arizona

    Ranrun – since I was actually IN the Coliseum to witness Andre Williams’ impressive 38 yard outing against a subpar USC team, I’ll leave it to the readers to decide who is ignorant here. Not impressed by a guy who repeatedly gets stuffed at the line of scrimmage – but did pile up 900 yards against Army (3-8), New Mexico St (2-10), and NC State (3-9).

    Mason had 34 yards against Miss St 48th ranked rush defense – and he has a great QB and versatile offense which Williams did not have this year. Even with this Williams had 149 yards against FSU 11th ranked run defense and 166 yards vs VTech 8th ranked run defense. The SEC title game was the first time Mason even broke the 200-yard barrier in a game; something Williams achieved five times this season. Williams has as many 200+ yard rushing performances (5) as Mason has sub-100-yard rushing performances (5, with a sixth right at the 100 yard mark).

    Williams would make Mason hang his head and cry. Mason has a better supporting staff and still can not compare.

    Ranrun said it right – let there be no doubt who is the better back now that we saw Carey dominate Andre Williams in the head-to-head and prove who is actually the better RB and whose comments are uninformed.
