On the same day it was learned a top defensive player would be returning, a pair of promising players on the other side of the ball have decided to take thier leave from Kentucky.
In somewhat of a surprising move, head coach Mark Stoops announced Friday through a spokesperson that running back Dyshawn Mobley has decided to part ways with the UK football program. No reason was given for the departure.
“I thank Dyshawn for his contributions to the team during his time here and wish him the best in his future,” the coach said.
After rushing for just 65 yards on 16 carries through the first 10 games of the season, the sophomore had 235 yards on 27 carries the final two games. Included in that total was a 17-carry, 143-yard performance in the season finale against Tennessee.
Mobley was a three-star member of the Wildcats’ 2012 recruiting class coming out of high school in Powell, Tenn. The back was the No. 23 player in the state at any position that recruiting cycle.
Additionally, the program confirmed Saturday that wide receiver Daryl Collins is leaving as well.

Collins, a three-star member of UK’s 2011 recruiting class, had one reception for five yards in 2013. That nominal output came a year after he had 17 catches for 171 yards as a redshirt freshman.
