Report: Brent Pease to reunite with Chris Petersen on Washington staff

Brent Pease, who was fired from Florida’s offensive coordinator position a couple weeks ago, has been hired by Washington head coach Chris Petersen for an as-yet-unknown role on the Huskies staff, according to a report on Tuesday from CoachingSearch.com.

Pease coached under Petersen at Boise State from 2006-11. He started out as the wide receivers coach from 2006-10 and then was elevated to offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach in 2011.

He was hired away by Florida in 2012 to serve as offensive coordinator under Will Muschamp. The Gators were 104th in total offense in 2012 when the team went 11-2, but the offense declined even further in 2013, finishing 115th as UF went 4-8. Pease was fired on Dec. 1.

Obviously, the Gators never took to Pease’s offensive scheme. Perhaps he’ll find a more receptive audience in the Pacific Northwest.
