Duke RB Jela Duncan suspended

Duke has lost the services of its leading rusher after the school suspended running back Jela Duncan for a violation of university academic policy, the Blue Devils announced on Saturday.

Duncan will not only miss the Chick-Fil-A bowl game against Texas A&M, but also all of next season as well.

The sophomore’s 562 rushing yards led Duke. He also scored three touchdowns.

Luckily for the Blue Devils, there is plenty of depth behind Duncan. Oft-used junior Josh Snead rushed for 547 yards and is a bit more dynamic than Duncan, averaging over 6 yards per carry. Sophomore Shaquille Powell has 337 yards and two scores. So the Duke running game should survive.
