USC safety Dion Bailey entering NFL Draft

Washington State v USC Getty Images

Dion Bailey is turning pro, the USC safety announced Monday (via the LA Times’ Gary Klein).

“There’s not much more I can prove,” Bailey said. His decision to enter the NFL Draft was an expected one.

Bailey led USC with five interceptions and broke up six passes in his redshirt junior season. He was fourth on the Trojans with 62 tackles and had 6 1/2 tackles for a loss.

He’s not projected as a first-round pick in next year’s NFL Draft by CBS Sports, though the same can be said for teammate Marqise Lee.

Was this sentence mangled or just inaccurate? Dane Brugler of CBS Sports has him going 24th to Cincinnati. Rob Rang has him going 28th to San Francisco.

Matt Miller of Bleacher Report has him going 19th to Philadelphia. Sean O’Donnell has him going 27th to Carolina.

ESPN’s latest player rankings has him at #8. Before the Las Vegas bowl SB Nation had him going 21st to Baltimore.

Those projections above are for Marqise Lee.
