Ex-Florida TE will transfer to Kansas

Will Muschamp AP

Former Florida tight end Kent Taylor confirmed via Twitter on Tuesday that he has decided to transfer to Kansas.

Taylor was the No. 1-ranked tight end in the class of 2012 but he only caught two passes in his first two seasons in Gainesville. His lone touchdown catch game in the 2013 Sugar Bowl loss to Louisville.

At 6-foot-5, 225 pounds, Taylor has the athletic ability to shine, but the woes of the Gator offense weren’t exactly conducive to that happening.

Taylor is one of six Gators to announce their transfer from Florida this month. All played on the offensive side of the ball.

He should be a quality addition to a Jayhawks roster that is in dire need of talent.

I guess Weiss recruited him…or his inspiring “you see that pile of crap out there…” speech closed the deal.

Of course Weiss might be gone next year.

Guess he wants to go where he’ll have a “decided schematic advantage.”

When you’re the #1 recruit at your position in high school, your highlights are shown on cable. When your highlights are shown on cable, you get a scholarship to a high profile program. When you get a scholarship to a high profile program, you get discouraged when you only catch 2 passes in 2 years. When you get discouraged when you only catch 2 passes in 2 years, you transfer to a program with an equally pathetic offense than the one you left. Don’t transfer to an equally pathetic offense than the one you just left. Get rid of cable. And upgrade to Direct TV.

At least he will be playing for a coach who has a clue. Lol, Muschamp sucks.
