Rashaad Reynolds outscoring Boise State at the half

Rashaad Reynolds is beating Boise State all by himself.

The Oregon State cornerback returned two fumbles for touchdowns to help stake the Beavers to a 31-6 halftime lead over Boise State in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl on Christmas Eve.

The first Reynolds scoop-and-score came when OSU defensive end Scott Crichton sacked and stripped Broncos quarterback Grant Hedrick deep inside Boise State territory. Reynold picked up the loose ball on the three-yard-line and ran it in to make the score 17-3 in favor of the Beavers.

After the Broncos tacked on a field goal to make the score 17-6, Reynolds struck again.

Boise’s next drive was inside OSU territory when Hedrick hit Troy Ware on a quick out, but Ware fumbled after getting hit by Larry Scott. Reynolds grabbed the ball and took it back 70 yards for his second touchdowns of the half as Hedrick pursued in vain. Just like that, the score was 24-6.

OSU scored again on an 81-yard drive culminating in a punishing nine-yard touchdown run by Terron Ward and the Beavers took it into the half leading by 25.

It’s going to take a Christmas miracle for the Broncos to come back. At least they should know by now which Oregon State defender to avoid.
