Teddy Bridgewater puts on a show in first half of Russell Athletic Bowl

For the second-straight bowl season, Teddy Bridgewater is coming through with a virtuoso performance against a team from Florida.

The junior Louisville quarterback completed 19 of 26 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns to stake the No. 18 Cardinals out to a 22-2 halftime lead over Miami in the Russell Athletic Bowl on Saturday.

The normally-pocket-friendly Bridgewater, who only rushed for 54 yards this season, also led Louisville with 18 rushing yards.

Bridgewater connected with eight different receivers in the first half, with six of his passes for 85 yards going to Devante Parker.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals defense stifled Miami, holding the Hurricanes to just 82 total yards.

Miami looked so dead in the first half, it’s hard to imagine it will mount a comeback. But this is bowl season -- anything can happen. But unless Stephen Morris (7/15 for 67 yards) gets hot, it’s going to be a long night for the ‘Canes.
