USC officially hires DC, OL coach

USC officially named Washington defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox as its defensive coordinator on Monday, as yet another former Husky assistant joined new Trojans coach Steve Sarkisian in Los Angeles.

Wilcox was Boise State’s DC from 2006-2009 and then spent two seasons at Tennessee before going to Washington in 2012.

Along with Wilcox, USC has also hired former Washington assistants Marques Tuiasosopo, Johnny Nansen, Keith Heyward and Peter Sirmon, all of whom coached with Sarkisian in Seattle.

One coach who is not from Washington was also announced Monday: Current San Francisco 49ers offensive line coach Tim Drevno, who will fill the same role for USC once the 49ers finish their playoff run. Drevno coached under Jim Harbaugh at Stanford from 2007-2010 before moving to the NFL.
