LSU defensive tackle Ego Ferguson has been suspended and will not play in the Outback Bowl against Iowa on Wednesday, according to a report on Tuesday from

No reason was given for the suspension, but academics were supposedly not the culprit.

Whatever the case, it looks like Ferguson will head to the NFL draft, along with junior wide out Odell Beckham.

Ferguson is fifth on LSU with 58 tackles, along with 3.5 tackles for loss and a sack. He’s likely to be taken in the first couple rounds of the next NFL draft.

Please correct ur article. He didn’t make the trip for health reasons. Not a suspension. I guess it was a lot easier to assume rather than gather facts before u hit send.

Where did you get Ego Ferguson was suspended? I cannot find such a press release from LSU, so where was that information obtained? He will get his health back and go in the NFL draft.

LSU was down a bit this year, but in all seriousness, they could travel with about 8 guys and still beat Iowa.

Why is it that the media always jumps to conclusions before gettin their facts straight? Several former players have said that indeed Ego hasn’t been suspended but he’s out due to health issues. All he needs his loud mouthed media to screw up and spread rumors and have his family upset for nothin. Geesh guys, think before you print and send.

The guy has a medical condition, and you claim that he’s suspended?

It’s one thing to get Greg Schiano’s name wrong, but it’s another to blatantly lie and say he was suspended when it was a medical condition.

I really hope that you print a retraction and apology.

This report from NBC Sports: reporter Chris Huston got so drunk on New Year’s Eve he still has not awakened from his stupor to correct his irresponsible reporting.
