The steady stream of players taking the early leap to the professional continued Tuesday, with USC the latest to lose a player to the NFL.
In a tweet posted to his Twitter account earlier, George Uko announced that he will be leaving collegiate eligibility on the table in order to make himself available for the May NFL draft.
“Thank you for everything Trojan family but me and my family have decided its best for me to go,” the defensive lineman wrote. “I have decided to enter the 2014 NFL Draft.”
Uko was fifth on the team in tackles for loss this season (seven) and third in sacks (five). Each of the past two seasons, Uko has been named honorable mention All-Pac-12.
Uko is the third Trojan to leave early for the draft this year, joining safety Dion Bailey and center Marcus Martin.
