USC receiver Marqise Lee entering NFL Draft

Perhaps as expected, USC wide receiver Marqise Lee will skip his final year of eligibility with the Trojans and enter the NFL Draft. Lee announced the decision on his Twitter account Friday night.

“I have decided to forego my senior season at USC and declare for the 2014 NFL Draft,” Lee announced Friday. “I want to thank my coaches, teammates, staff and the entire Trojan Family for all of the support over the last three seasons. I am a proud Trojan and will remain a Trojan for life!”

Lee was USC’s top offensive player each of the past few years. Lee recorded 1,721 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns in 2012 and 1,143 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns the year before. This past season Lee was banged up at various points so his production took a dip with 791 yards and four touchdowns in 11 games. When healthy, Lee is one of the best receivers in the game and he should be a solid draft pick if he can prove to be in good shape in the coming months.

Lee, the 2012 Biletnikoff Award winner, joins a number of other junior wide receivers moving on to the NFL. Oregon State’s Brandin Cooks, this season’s Biletnikoff Award winner, as well as Texas A&M’s Mike Evans and Penn State’s Allen Robinson are all entering the NFL Draft this spring.

Very good player who had a great college career. Good luck in the NFL. Would love it if you went to my 49ers.

Looking like a very deep WR draft. Evans and Watkins only ones I’d take in 1st round. There will be good value in 2nd and 3rd rounds

USC receivers never seem to pan out in the NFL. Kinda like the guys who throw them the ball… no?

Lee is an electric player. I can’t imagine him not having a solid career. SC won’t miss a beat as Agholor is similarly talented.

Considering where he’s coming from he’s destined to be yet another Bust in a long long long line of USC over rated garbage.

Seeing that USC has the most players in the hall of fame and produces the most 1st round picks…I’m looking forward to seeing lee become a great player in the nfl despite the nay sayers

When schools have more players in the NFL, the odds of busts tend to increase. It’s simple math. Not so simple for some, apparently.

That’s right. USC’s Brian Cushing, Clay Matthews, Reggie Bush, Troy Polamalu, Taylor Mays, Rey Maualuga, and all the Trojans in the HOF are all hacks. Look just be happy for a kid with skills no matter what school he went to. he’s accessing the dreams of thousands of kids across the country. All the best Marqise. Fight On!

Yeah, Keyshawn Johnson was a terrible receiver.
