Uh oh….FSU is trailing

AP Photo/Butch Dill AP

Something happened in the first quarter of Monday night’s BCS title game that hasn’t happened since Sept. 28 of last year.

Florida State fell behind in a football game.

Auburn punctured the armor of the Seminoles by jumping out ahead, 14-3, early in the second quarter on the strength of two Nick Marshall touchdown passes: The first a short inside screen to Tre Mason and the second a 50-yard strike to Melvin Ray.

Tigers head coach Gus Malzhan’s offensive wizardry put FSU’s nation-leading defense on its heels, while Heisman winner Jameis Winston looked very much like a freshman.

If this keeps up, we’ll have one of the biggest upsets in BCS history. We’ll see you again at halftime.

They’re losing at the line of scrimmage and Jimbo is getting worked by Malzahn. Otherwise, all is peachy in Seminole land.

Tom ford is a drug. Good job promoting drug use auburn. Maybe that explains the methamphetamine type of start the SEC always seems to start these games with..

Should never… Ever… Ever consider an SEC team as an underdog. Pure speed and athleticism.

There’s still a lot of football left. I’ve seen FSU come back from some serious deficits. Of course, those were Bobby Bowden teams.

Has it really been 9 years since USC/Texas and the last good championship game? I don’t even care who wins, I just wanted a competitive game..

Florida State defense needs to take over. I can’t believe this team runs the ball this easily, especially the game against mizzu

Pathetic because good coaching would stop that run game. Why doesn’t Florida state play run 100%. Marshall can’t throw??

The two things I was most afraid of, Malzahn outcoaching Fisher, which is happening, and Winston finally playing like a freshman, which is happening. Alot of football left though. However, unless we start getting back to winning in the trenches, this game will be over soon.

    WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!!

Game over. Horrible offensive play calling by FSU. Gus Malzahn is a wizard. FSU has twice the talent that ND had last year yet they’re pissing it away.

    @Penvik:

The issue is that Marshall CAN throw. FSU D has to respect the pass.

FSU offense needs to be patient. Take what Auburn gives them…quick routes, follow the blockers. Take advantage of the man-man defense.

–and then they’ll get their touchdowns…10-21.

Good drive and gutsy punt fake by Jimbo. FSU has to end this half on a good note. Winston got in a groove on that drive.

How would this be one of the biggest upsets in BCS history? Child, please…

Didn’t FSU choke against OU in 2000 despite being an 11 point favorite? OSU’s was a 12 point underdog vs. UM in 2002.

    Know your football history.

If you have to resort to TRICK PLAYS this early in the GaME! WAR EAGLE!!

Obviously the competition in the ACC is not those same as the SEC. They shouldn’t of given the Heisman to another freshman. Big Mistake.
