Florida State is already starting to build a strong team heading in to the 2014 season, looking to defend their national championship. On Wednesday the school announced three First Team All ACC players will return in 2014 for the Seminoles.
Offensive linemen Cameron Irving and Tre’ Jackson will be back to protect Heisman Trophy quarterback Jameis Winston and help create running lanes for the ground game. Florida State ranked third in the ACC in rushing offense, averaging 203.14 rushing yards per game. Only Georgia Tech’s run-happy offense and Boston College with 2,000-yard rusher Andre Williams had better rushing offenses in the ACC last season.
Florida State will also bring back wide receiver Rashad Greene, the team’s leading receiver last season. Greene was one of two 1,000-yard receivers with 1,128 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. Together with Kelvin Benjamin, the Seminoles will have excellent targets to throw to in the passing game next fall. Greene did not have a touchdown in the BCS Championship game but he did have a key 49-yard reception to set up Florida State’s game-winning touchdown near the end of the game.
We are excited to announce Cameron Erving, Rashad Greene and Tre’ Jackson will be returning to school for their senior seasons!
