Report: Manziel has filed NFL paperwork

Yesterday, in yet another sign that Johnny Manziel would pull the trigger on early entry into the NFL draft, it was reported that the Texas A&M quarterback had selected an agent to represent him and a firm to be in charge of marketing.

Now, there’s yet another data point in a year’s worth of them that signals the imminent end of the college version of Johnny Football.

Wednesday morning, and after noting that water is wet and the sky is blue, NFL.com‘s Gil Brandt confirmed via Twitter the expected, that “Manziel has officially submitted declaration papers to #NFL for [inclusion] in 2014 draft.”

It’s been thought for a better part of a year that, after winning the Heisman Trophy as a redshirt sophomore, Manziel would leave two years of collegiate eligibility on the table for the NFL. Manziel is expected to make it officially official with an announcement as early as today.
