Report: Injury removes Boston College’s Andre Williams from Senior Bowl

The Senior Bowl is the top college football all-star game and the last chance many will have to suit up and play a game before heading to the NFL. Unfortunately for Boston College’s Heisman finalist running back and 2,000-yard rusher, Andre Williams may have already played his final game.

According to a report by AL.com, Williams has pulled out of the Senior Bowl due to an injury. Williams was banged up at the end of the 2013 season against Syracuse and with the NFL scouting combine coming up in February and other workouts sure to be scheduled between now and the draft, it may actually be best for Willliams to avoid contact where he can now.

It is shame we will not get to see Williams go up against some of the top senior talent heading to the NFL one last time, considering some of his weaker performances this past season came against the tougher competition around the ACC. A good showing in the Senior Bowl would have been beneficial to his draft stock, but he will still have some opportunities to improve his draft profile.
