Report: Ben Wilkerson interviewed for LSU OL coach position

Les Miles AP

Former LSU center Ben Wilkerson was recently interviewed by Les Miles for the Tigers’ open offensive line coach position, according to a report on Sunday from the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Wilkerson is the current offensive line coach at Grambling and a former Tigers All-American. He won the Rimington Award as the nation’s top center in 2004. He worked as a graduate assistant under Miles in 2011.

LSU is looking to replace departing line coach Greg Studrawa, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities.

The Tigers have also interviewed former LSU lineman Rob Sale and Virginia Tech tight ends coach Jeff Grimes, formerly the line coach at Auburn.

Just yesterday I was wondering what happened to Ben.

I hope Mawae will be hired on as an assistant. Both can relate to the young players and speak their social media language. Both Wilkerson and Mawae can (and need to get busy quickly!) recruiting from West Monroe, Monroe, Bossier City, etc. and North Louisiana.

Mawae, hopefully is hired on as well, will give LSU, the NFL cred the players are looking for. As an assistant, he can learn the coaching part and can later progress to the OL coach at LSU or elsewhere.

Cometkazie, my friend: Just traveled into eastern KY to bring some patients, which was deemed better with the ongoing problems with water in western WVA.

I hope you caught a break in the weather. It’s been consistently inconsistent.

What has Kevin been doing? I thought he was with the players’ union. Haven’t heard of him for a while.

As a former industrial hygienist, it seems a major problem is the lack of toxicity data for the spilled chemical in WV.
