Former Texas DL coach ditching USC for Alabama

Less than a week after he was introduced as USC’s new defensive line coach, former Texas assistant Bo Davis has decided to spurn the Trojans and take the same position at Alabama.

Davis, who cited ‘family reasons’ for the change of heart, will replace Chris Rumph, who just left Alabama for Texas, where Davis coached tackles for the last couple seasons. To make matters a little more confusing, Davis spent the four previous seasons before Texas coaching the defensive line at Alabama.

The only previously-mentioned school without a defensive line coach right now is USC.

“We wish Bo and his family the best of luck. He is a good coach,” said Sarkisian. “We will move forward and find a great coach for our defensive line.”
