McNeese State likely landing spot for ex-Miss. St. RB

It appears that Mississippi State’s backfield loss will be an FCS program’s gain.

Saying "[t]hanks for all the love and support from my bulldawg family will always love and miss you,” Derrick Milton confirmed via Twitter that he’s leaving the Bulldogs football program after asking for a release from his MSU scholarship. The Northeast Daily Journal subsequently reported that the running back would likely transfer to McNeese State.

The FCS school has yet to announce Milton’s addition to the roster.

A three-star member of MSU’s 2011 recruiting class, Milton rushed 13 times for 69 yards and a pair of touchdowns in 2013. He rushed for 165 yards in 2012
