Stanford wide receiver Ty Montgomery will be back for his final year of eligibility. So will safety Jordan Richards. Stanford released the news via Twitter.
Montgomery was Stanford’s leading receiver in 2013, with 958 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Montgomery averaged 15.7 yards per reception and led the Cardinal with 4.4 catches per game. His best game of the 2013 season came against rival California with 160 receiving yards and four touchdowns in a 63-13 rout. He will once again be the top receiving option for the Cardinal in 2014 as Stanford looks to win a third consecutive Pac 12 title out of a Pac 12 North division that looks to be improving.
Richards was one of the top defensive players for Stanford last season. He led Stanford with three interceptions, with one being returned for a touchdown. He was also fifth on the team in tackles with 68 total tackles.
