Todd Grantham -- and his brother -- officially hired by Louisville

The Brothers Grantham have officially taken their family football show to Louisville.

Four days after reports first surfaced that Todd Grantham was leaving Georgia, the Cardinals confirmed Thursday that the 47-year-old coach has been hired as Bobby Petrino‘s defensive coordinator. Grantham had spent four years as the Bulldogs’ coordinator before moving on to the Cardinals.

In addition to his coordinating duties, Grantham will coach the UofL’s safeties.

“To get a coach like Todd Grantham on our staff says a lot about our program,” Petrino said in a statement. “I’ve had the opportunity to compete against Todd’s defenses over the years and have been very impressed with his scheme and how hard his players compete. Todd will be a great addition to lead our defense.”

In addition to Todd Grantham, the UofL also announced the hiring of his brother, Tony Grantham, as inside linebackers coach and special teams coordinator. The younger Grantham had spent the past six seasons as a Navy assistant.
