A little over a week after officially beginning a second act at Louisville, Bobby Petrino has put the finishing touches on another initial Cardinals coaching staff.
Lamar Thomas and Terrell Buckley, the school announced via a press release, have been hired as the UofL’s wide receivers and cornerbacks coach, respectively. Each of the two new assistants were standout college football players in the state of Florida, the former at Miami and the latter Florida State.
Thomas spent 2013 as receivers coach on Petrino’s Western Kentucky staff. He coached for two years at Hampton prior to that.
The past two seasons, Buckley served as Akron’s cornerbacks coach. He was also an FSU grad assistant for three years.
The move to complete the coaching staff comes on the heels of the hiring of Todd and Tony Grantham as defensive coordinator/safeties coach and special teams coordinator/inside linebackers coach, respectively.
