Ex-Michigan RB great Mike Hart to coach same position at WMU

After spending the past two seasons at one directional Michigan school, former Michigan star Mike Hart has moved on to another.

Citing unnamed school officials, mlive.com reported overnight that Hart has decided to leave his post as Eastern Michigan’s running backs coach to take the same position with Western Michigan. Hart spent two of his three years at EMU as the running backs coach.

The website wrote that “the official announcement of the hiring of Hart will happen once proper background checks are complete.”

Hart, who had been the only assistant retained by new EMU head coach Chris Creighton, will replace Charles Huff, who left WMU to take the same job on James Franklin‘s Penn State staff.

The all-time leading rusher in Wolverines history (5,040 yards from 2004-07), Hart spent three seasons with the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts before ending what was an injury-plagued pro career.
