Nevada RB Chris Solomon suspended after battery arrest

After relative calm on the arrest front the past couple of weeks, a mini-run of legal issues continues Tuesday, with a Nevada football player the latest to set the “Days Without An Arrest” ticker back to double zeroes.

According to the Reno Gazette-Journal, Nevada running back Chris Solomon was arrested Sunday and charged with one count of misdemeanor first-degree battery. No details of what led to the arrest have been made available.

As a result of the incident, Wolf Pack head coach Brian Polian confirmed in a statement that Solomon has been indefinitely suspended by the football program.

As a redshirt freshman in 2013, Solomon was fourth on the team, and third among running backs, with 282 yards rushing. Solomon’s best game of the season came against the Wolf Pack’s toughest competition as he ran for 108 yards on 26 carries in a 55-point mid-September loss to eventual BCS champ Florida State.
