The FCS the new home for pair of LSU DB transfers

Jerqwinik Sandolph

Just a couple of days after leaving LSU, two of the four players who transferred out of the Tigers program have found the same, new football home.

Southeastern Louisiana has confirmed that defensive backs Derrick Raymond and Jerqwinick Sandolph have transferred into the FCS program.  Because the Lions play at the FCS level, both players will be eligible to play immediately in 2014.

Sandolph played in 12 games during his time with the Tigers, including three in 2013, while Raymond did not see the field at all during his two seasons in Baton Rouge.  Both players were three-star members of LSU’s 2012 recruiting class.

Along with Sandolph and Raymond, LSU confirmed this past Wednesday that offensive lineman Derek Edinburgh Jr., linebacker Lorenzo Phillips had decided to transfer out as well.  Another LSU transfer, Micah Eugene, has also enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana.

It was confirmed in late December that Eugene, also a defensive back, had decided to leave LSU.

And this is what I was inferring, they left because they wanted to play and knew they were not going to at LSU.

Isn’t this the same SELA that was caught by the NCAA for having over 100 players that kept playing even though there weren’t academically eligible?

You are correct, Mr Petty, and they are on probation with multiple sports losing scholarship slots–including a loss of three for this coming season in football.

    Oh and this:

Sandolph is better known on the team as “Thumbsucker,” according to players.
